Islam in Your Public School
“Separation of Church and State” – right? That’s what the ACLU and its friends cry out whenever there is anything that even approaches Christianity in the marketplace of ideas. (See Planet Bizarro blog).
So, why isn’t there an outcry against Islamic indoctrination in our public schools?
You might be surprised at the extent of Islamic-related classwork and homework being assigned to kids.
Consider what took place this week with a class of public school 7th grade students in Huntington Beach, CA.
Where; Laid-back sunny Huntington Beach? - Yep.
Apparently, a teacher wrote a song promoting the Islamic faith and then forced his students to learn it.
The lyrics:
“Like a sandstorm/on the desert/
“sending camels/into motion,”
“Like how a single faith/can make a heart open/
“They might only have one God/
“But they can make an explosion.”
“But they can make an explosion” – Seriously; A week after the Paris terrorist attack?
The lyrics were written to be sung to a song called “This Is My Fight Song.”
Again, seriously?
One parent voiced concern after her son brought home a notebook that included a drawing of a man saying, “Believe in Allah! There is no other god.” No joke.
ONE parent voiced concern. Where are the other parents?
The local school district called the song “unfortunate”.
I have not read anything about disciplinary action of any kind for this teacher, but when a high school football coach kneels for a moment of prayer after a game, he gets fired!
So, the ACLU dispatched lawyers, wrote the school a nasty letter, telephoned the school, right?
Nope – not a word.
They also had no complaints about an Islamic-related assignment at Utah’s Salem Junior High School. Students there were instructed to create posters for terrorist organizations like the Islamic State (ISIS).
CBS News reports the front page of the project lists “eight reasons why young Muslims join ISIS” and the back page required student to draw a “terrorism propaganda poster.”
After parents (note - plural) complained, the Nebo School District canceled the assignment and apologized. It turns out the lesson was not approved by the school nor was it part of any official curriculum.
As Todd Starnes, host of Fox News and Commentary wrote in his article: Schools sing praise to Allah, create propaganda posters for ISIS:
“The district said the lesson was meant to help students understand the goals of terrorist groups.”
“Well, let me drop a little knowledge on you, kids. The Islamic radicals want to kill you. They want to kill your families. They want to kill your friends. That’s pretty much all you need to know about the Islamic radicals."
"It's bad enough we have apologists for radical Islam in the White House, but to have them in our school houses is simply unacceptable – and downright dangerous”
