HEADMASTER

APS is owned and operated by Richard and Cindee Grant.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders with an emphasis on Special Education of the hearing impaired.  He has taught professionally at both Jr. High and Sr. High School levels as well as college.

Richard is the author of the popular 7-volume "I love to Read" series:

Cindee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation.  She has taught professionally in both sixth grade and fourth grade.  In addition, she was named Master Teacher of her fourth grade department for two years as well as acting Elementary Principal for summer school.

Mr. and Mrs. Grant began investigating Home Education in 1982 at the birth of their son Brandon. By the time their daughter Brittany was born in 1985, Richard and Cindee were convinced of the benefits and necessity of home schooling.  They enjoy relationships with home school leaders and authors within and outside of California and are popular conference speakers.  In addition, both are actively involved in their church.

Brandon and Brittany never attended traditional school until they entered college.

Brandon has earned a Bachelor of Science, Pre-Med Biology degree, from The Master's College.Much of his undergraduate college tuition was paid by academic and service-related scholarships (Home-schooled students CAN and OFTEN DO get scholarships). Brandon is now a LAFD firefighter.

Brittany has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, graduating Summa Cum Laude from The Master's College. Almost all of her college tuition was paid by academic and service related scholarships. She was accepted into USC's Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) program but elected to earn an MPT from CSUN. At graduation, she received special commendation from her professors. After passing her California Board exams, she entered into private practice as a Physical Therapist.

Brandon and Brittany are examples of the academic excellence possible through home schooling and encouraged at APS.  "Celebrate Excellence" is more than a motto at APS, it is a way of life.
