Encourages parent/teacher accountability. Provides lesson planning, attendance sheets, and other required forms. Performs student record keeping (CUM files). Fulfills California State requirements in filing a private school affidavit. Coordinates a myriad of field trips, classes and special events. Provides a network for home educators. Distributes educational information. Provides a 'master-teacher' advisory service. Arranges educational 'in service' training, Q & A sessions, and 'Workshops'. Arranges for optional school pictures and school photo-id cards. Fields Jr / Sr. High sports teams. Provides the services of a Curriculum Director. HSLDA provides a group discount rate for HSLDA membership. Provides a free copy of the APS Home School Survival Guide. Provides a free subscription to The Lion's Roar.

In addition, APS is registered with the national College Board Testing Distribution
Center for PSAT exams.
